Bio
Mary Darcy is the finest actor/writer/storyteller/producer/host ever to come out of Canarsie, Brooklyn – a fact that must be true because her parents would never lie. (And yes, that does make her Mary Darcy from Canarsie). Mary left Canarsie as a child for the bright lights of Albany, NY, but the glitz and glamour of life in the shadow of the NYS capitol proved too much, so she made her way back to the Big Apple.
As An Actor:
Mary has performed at NYC’s Symphony Space, Capital Rep, The LakeTheater, Caffe Lena, and numerous regional theaters. Favorite roles include M’Lynn in Steel Magnolias, The Angel in Angels in America, Corey in Barefoot in the Park, The Baker’s Wife in Into the Woods, both Joanne and Amy in Company, Lisa Kron in Well and Murial in Dirty Rotten Scoundrels. And yes, that is her telling you to turn off your phone in the curtain speech at the New York State Theater (aka The Egg). Please comply. Thanks.
As A Broadcaster And Host:
